Shower Screen Options: Framed, Frameless and Walk-In

22 October 2025 · 5 min read

The right glass shower screen transforms a bathroom. Here's how the main styles compare and what to consider.

Framed, semi-frameless and frameless

Framed screens have a metal surround on all edges — sturdy and budget-friendly. Semi-frameless reduces the framing for a cleaner look, while fully frameless screens use thick toughened glass with minimal fixings for a striking, easy-to-clean finish. Frameless costs more but looks the most premium.

All shower glass is toughened safety glass for strength and safety.

Walk-in and wet rooms

Walk-in screens are a single fixed panel that needs no door — open, modern and very easy to clean. They suit larger bathrooms and wet rooms, and pair well with frameless styling. A glazier can advise on panel size and any bracing needed for stability.

Anti-limescale coatings keep the glass clearer for longer with less cleaning.

Made to measure

Bespoke shower screens start with a precise survey, as toughened glass is cut and treated before it is hardened and cannot be altered afterwards. We then make and fit the screen to suit your space, fixings and finish.
