Bay windows are a lovely feature — and have a few glazing quirks worth understanding before any repair.
Why bays are a bit different
A bay window is several windows joined at angles to project outward, which adds light and a feeling of space. Because of their shape and the angled joints, individual panes vary in size and the structure carries more load, so repairs need a careful, measured approach.
The good news is that, as with any window, you usually only replace the affected glass or unit — not the whole bay.
Replacing glass in a bay
A misted or cracked unit in one section of a bay is measured and replaced individually, keeping the rest intact. Each pane is measured precisely because sizes differ across the angles. Standard sizes can often be done quickly; bespoke sizes are made to order.
